NEW SNOWPLOW SAFETY CAMPAIGN ENCOURAGES ALBERTA DRIVERS TO BE AWARE AND ALLOW FOR THE PLOW.
When winter snowstorms hit Alberta, a dedicated team of snowplow operators take to the highways and main thoroughfares to keep the roads clear and safe for motorists.
In order to ensure our provincial snowplow operators can do their jobs in a safe and efficient manner, Alberta Roadbuilders and Heavy Construction Association (ARHCA) has launched a campaign to educate the public about the best ways to share the roads with snowplows.
The Allow For The Plow campaign provides motorists with a series of tips to implement when they encounter a snowplow at work on a winter highway in Alberta:
STAY BACK 4 TO 5 CAR LENGTHS FROM A SNOWPLOW.

To further reinforce the importance of snowplow safety, a special video featuring Alberta snowplow operators talking about their jobs and sharing valuable insights has been created:

If you encounter a snowplow during your winter travels in Alberta, remember to
Allow For The Plow—slow down, leave plenty of room, and be patient.
