Alberta OHS Code Review Information Session

Alberta’s Occupational Health and Safety legislation has a significant and ongoing impact on the worksites of all ARHCA members.

As part of its overall legislative plan, Alberta Human Services, Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) is in the process of reviewing all portions of the Occupational Health and Safety Code.

The ARHCA is pleased to announce an upcoming information session to discuss and answer your questions about draft changes to the Code, including Occupational Exposure Levels (OELs) for asphalt fumes and silica dust.

There will be discussion of proposed changes to the following OHS Code items:

  • Part 4 – Chemical and biological hazards and harmful substances
  • Part 6 – Cranes, hoisting and lifting devices
  • Part 21 – Rigging
  • Part 23 – Scaffolds and temporary work platforms
  • Part 32 – Excavating and tunneling

Diane Radnoff, Senior Occupational Hygienist, and other OHS representatives will provide an overview and background, discuss contemplated changes and answer questions from our members.
